Synopsis:
Stories of Pang Jai is a feature documentary film about the vendors of Hong Kong's "Pang Jai" fabric market as they fight to prevent the government from demolishing their market for redevelopment. The film chronicles the history of the market, the daily lives of the vendors, and their organized protest against the government's 2015 plan to reclaim the land. It is a story of community resilience, the struggle for survival in a high-cost city, and a testament to Hong Kong's textile industry and civil society.
