Jimmy Lo is a filmmaker, film educator and film curator from Hong Kong, now based in Canada. His award-winning debut feature doc, Stories of Pang Jai (2024), won Best Feature Film and Best Cinematography for Feature Film awards at Vancouver Asian Film Festival and was nominated for Human Rights Award at South Taiwan Film Festival. His second feature doc Give and Take (2025) explores the recent Hong Kong diaspora in Canada. Mobile (2026) is his newest and first scripted short. His films have been screened internationally.
Jimmy is an Assistant Professor at MacEwan University, where he teaches film and video production. He is also a Visiting Faculty in the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of Hong Kong. Jimmy co-curates and co-organizes the Asian Independent Cinema Showcase (with Dr. Helena Wu). He holds an MFA in Film Production from UBC.
