Jimmy Lo is a filmmaker, film educator and film curator from Hong Kong, now based in Canada. His award-winning debut feature doc, Stories of Pang Jai (2024), won Best Feature Film and Best Cinematography for Feature Film awards at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival 2024 and was nominated for the Human Rights Award at South Taiwan Film Festival. His second feature doc Give and Take (2025) explores the recent immigrants from Hong Kong in Canada. Mobile (2026) is his newest and first scripted short. His films have been screened internationally.
Jimmy is an assistant professor at MacEwan University, where he teaches film and video production. Jimmy co-curates and co-organizes the Asian Independent Cinema Showcase (with Dr. Helena Wu). He holds an MFA in Film Production from UBC.
